Chora, a dance performance by Canan Yücel Pekiçten inspired by Güneş Terkol’s exhibition Soundscapes, explored concepts of femininity and motherhood through the medium of the body. Premiered on 30 April, Chora featured music composed by guguou, the collective of musicians of which Terkol is a member. The performance featured three dancers exploring ways to engage in a movement-based dialogue with the figures woven into Terkol’s fabrics. As Terkol’s fabrics drifted through the space like living bodies, the dancers brought new layers of meaning to the works through their energy and movement.
