Led by the Atölyepikolo team, this workshop for children aged 6–9 will invite participants to explore the group exhibition The Promises of Monsters through the works of artists including Serkan Aka, Hilal Polat, İrem Aydın and Seçil Epik. Bringing together science and design, the workshop will take children on a journey to discover the origins of cinema and moving images, introducing them to the zoetrope, one of the most playful devices of the optical age. Inspired by the exhibition, children will bring their imaginary characters to life by drawing them and animating them on a zoetrope wheel of their own making. At the end of the workshop, the wheels will spin in the children’s hands as their characters spring into motion!
