Is a hat just a hat? Can a bamboo stick become a broom? And if a broom could fly, where would it take us?
Hara invites children to discover how ordinary objects can be transformed into something entirely different through imagination. The workshop begins with a short exploration and movement game, during which children will explore colours, textures, and shapes through a sensory experience in Hara’s garden and exhibition space.
In the second part of the workshop, children will transform cardboard hat shapes using paint, fabric, tulle, yarn, and a variety of textured materials to design hats for their own imaginary characters. They will then use bamboo sticks and chenille stems to create their very own imaginary brooms.
The workshop concludes with a short Hara Flying Adventure, where children bring their creations to life through play and movement. Throughout the process, children are encouraged to create unique characters through their own choices and express their imagination through colour, shape, movement, and materials.
